Loves of Life

Why, is that timeless question,

Which has haunted all people past.

Who, in such stupors of desperation for an answer-

Wage wars, incarcerate innocents and damn dreams.

Still, they tirelessly traverse a vaultless void-

Discovering no salvation to that incessant need.

Oh, empty and impregnable ignorance-

So vastly blinding amidst such chaos.

For it is only the amorous lover,

Who enables you to create.

It is the true lover, who holds no fleeting bounds,

With a heart incapable of fickle lovelessness.

The subtle lover, who sneaks and does not speak,

To hold your soul like Nick held Offred.

Torn from body and mind-

These shadowed silences safely uncover your heart.

The enamored lover, is selfless without thought,

And when untimely death comes to collect you-

It is Tristan who fades in Isoldes arms.

But oh! That shattering, splicing of internals-

You are then Juliet,

Awakening to behold the corpse of her repose;

Mourning- for going forth in a life without

That timeless solution- is no life to hold space for.
