Love Yourself

By Vikasini. Y

Living with people in the world of love and hate,

One person, strong yet tender, known for her uncommon kindness,

Vivid and vague aren't my memories of her,

Everytime I look in the mirror, I remember her.

'Ye should love yourself.', she told me.

On a winter night, her face as a late winter's moon.

Unselfish was she, and it

Readily made me listen to her.

Sanguine and serene was she and taught me to

Embrace my flaws on a winter night.

Loving myself was the best thing I ever did.

From flaws to my beautiful they became, on that splendid night.
