it is not something you chase

love yourself before loving them

because love is not a race

fear, insecurity, mistrust

is barely dust

when you are in the presence of love

everything remains undiscussed

love is pure

it is something that for life you will adore

love is divine

it is what you seek for to be fine

so let go and love

love yourself unabashedly

love the child in you unapologetically

THE CHILD IN ME GREW UP

I wish I never had to grow up

why do things have to change

I wish I had never seen this glow up

I wish I didn’t age

I’ll never let the child inside me die

I am doing it all for her

I’ll give her wings to fly high

because life wouldn’t have been possible if it wasn’t for her

she is still me but I am not her

the little me is growing up

I am just a part of her

because I can’t stop myself from growing up

oh to be five and untied

to not care about anything

to live life, unconfined

to be able to feel nothing

cut to being sixteen and tied

to care about everything

to live life, confined

to be able to feel everything.
