Love - It's What You Make It To Be

Love  – carved over centuries preserved in strokes  , made timeless in ink , passed from soul to soul yet never truly known . You assess it under a microscope wanting to know the science behind it but magic only works when the magician doesn’t reveal the  trick. Perhaps it’s supposed to be an ordinary thing present everywhere, perhaps we are too wrapped in our fantasies to notice it lying scattered like pollen in spring, present in everything. The way you smile at a stranger is love, the way you tell yourself you’re doing good is love, the way you miss a dear one when you see their reminders in ordinary fleeting moments? That’s love, cliché and mundane . 

But in the end I imagine love as the face that made me smile when it felt like a task , the hand that laid soil on my grave and the one that planted flowers in its wake and I imagine love as the hand that lulled me to sleep when I cried, doesn’t matter whether it be mine. 

Love is what we make it to be, a blind person thinks guidance is glee whereas a well sighted one sees it as a felony.

Love is what I make it to be, it can be wiping my own tears or someone seeing all my fears.

But when all is done and all seen, love is what makes you scream whether it be in agony or g
