LOST IN THE MOUNTAINS

The crisp mountain air filled my lungs as my friends and I embarked on our hiking adventure, the sun casting long shadows across the rugged terrain. My friends, David, Emily and Alice were eager to conquer the whispering Pine trail, a path known for its breathtaking views and challenging climbs. The trail wound its way through a dense forest of towering pines, their needles crafting a soft, earthy carpet under our boots. Sunlight draped through the canopy, illuminating patches of vibrant green moss and the occasional flash of a hidden stream. The air was alive with the sounds of nature, the rustling of leaves and the chirping of unseen birds. We were all in high spirits, laughing and sharing stories, completely absorbed in the beauty of our surroundings.

As we ascended, the trail became steeper and the trees began to shrink revealing glimpses of the vast mountain range that stretched before us. The higher we climbed, the more stunning the view looked. We paused frequently to catch our breath and marvel at the scenery, taking photos and soaking in the majesty of the mountain. However, our leisurely place and the allure of the views led us astray. We missed a crucial turn, a small fragment hidden behind a cluster of rocks and unknowingly veered off course. It wasn't until the sun began to dip below the horizon that we realized something was amiss.

Subsequently, we noticed that the familiar trail had vanished, replaced by unfamiliar wilderness. Panic began to set in as we desperately searched for any sign of the trail. The vibrant colors of the day faded into a somber twilight and the cheerful sounds of nature replaced by a horrible eerie silence.The temperature plummeted,and before we knew it the sky became moonless. kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk

Terror consumed our body and soul as we realized that we were lost.”Oh no,we took the wrong turn!”shrieked Alice.”Help,Help!”we all pleaded helplessly.Suddenly,we heard a pack of wolves howling.”Ahh!”we bawled in complete fright.Our feet darted on its own.

“Wait,look over there!”I gasped as we saw the brightly lit path sign that we were supposed to follow before. As we reached the sign,we all fell to the floor in exhaustion and relief.”Thank god,we weren't eaten by those wolves out there!”said David while he laughed off the previous encounter, trying to break the ice. We were all so relieved that we didn't kick the bucket.I will surely never forget our frantic moment of fear.
