Everybody is eagerly waiting for the arrival of their master, it's his birthday, the most eventful day of the year. Everyone has a bunch of lavender flowers to wish him. Hey there, he is arriving!! The charming and beautiful John arrives with his personal assistant Tripthi and manager Antony.

Wow!! Amazing decor!! John thinks in his mind. John looked around, the pillars and arches were decorated with white tulips and my favourite lavender flowers. Walls are decorated with white balloons and the candles are lit up. He saw that everybody was waiting for him. All are dressed up in white dresses, and here is the catch, I will be unique in my maroon suit. Anyway, today's theme was really pretty, white and lavender! John thought.

When he steps into the large spiral stairs, the violin starts playing the birthday song. A smile blooms in John's face while hear it. “Happy birthday John” everybody said loudly when he arrived downstairs. “Thank you everyone” John said loudly and energetically with a grateful smile. Everybody began to present the bunch of lavender flowers they had. Here begins a great day full of dance, music and all other entertainment programs. All of his friends, mentors, partners, the staff of his whole companies and neighbours are gathered there to wish him and to take part in the events and thereafter the lunch. Antony invited him to cut the birthday cake, it's a three layer cake white with lavender flowers. John cut the cake and the claps showered.

John’s table is arranged with his most favourite dishes and his favourite beers and teas.

What a lucky human I am!! John thought, I can't eat or taste all of the items on the table, but I can choose whatever I want. It's a privilege! Is it the real fortune a man wants? John asks himself.

Having food, John remembered his last birthday with his parents and their mandatory duet dance on every birthday. Every year John was welcomed to the party by the birthday song sung by his father. The last time it was heard was five years back.

John waked from his thoughts and chose the honey cheesecake for dessert, it was mum’s favourite. She was beautiful while laughing, John remembered. Such a beautiful face was totally ruined in the car crash. John shut his eyes.

‘Are you ok, John??’ Tripthi asked.

John opened his eyes and smiled at Edwin and said, “Yeah, I am alright.”

Tripthi smiled back.

Laying in an easy chair on the balcony at night and having champagne John feels grateful for this day, the so-called ‘birthday’. But who will fill the gaps of great warmth and care given by mum and dad? Whoever can? When will this loneliness be over? Why can't I cope up with reality? For the people outside there feel jealous of me! For them I am the richest, I am the fortunate, I am the man who can have anything and everything. But I am a lonely man with a crying heart who misses his father and mother, who cried like a child for some care and warmth, who loves to share some happiness and time with somebody. Who cares?? And who knows??

John sank into a river of thoughts.
