Look For The Light

I stand by the waves every dusk and each dawn

Beacon held high while the tides pull you on

You sail into darkness where stars hide from sight

But I will be shining so look for the light

The storms may be cruel and the winds may be loud

Yet I stay unmoving, both steady and proud

The sea may surround you in endless night

Still I will be glowing so look for the light

Though distance divides us by ocean and foam

And you wander far from your promise of home

I wait on the shoreline through every long night

Forever I’ll guide you so look for the light

If ever your heart feels too weary to roam

Or waves try to claim you and keep you from home

Return to the beacon that burns strong and bright

Come back to my harbor and look for the light
