Look Beyond My Visage

They notice my wrinkles & fine lines
I ask them to look into my heart sometimes
They notice my blemished face
I ask them if it is a sign of disgrace
They tattle about my thinning grey hair
I ask them if there's nothing else they care
They mock at the colour of my skin
I ask them if it is a grievous sin
They don't notice every wrinkle has a story to say
They don't notice the toil behind every strand of grey
They don't notice the kindness behind my furrows
They don't notice my blemished face has had its share of sorrows
