Long River of Memories

Updated: Jul 16

By Priya Patel

[Context: A girl who had a crush on her teacher. And this poem reflects all her feelings for him.]

In this long river of memories,

I made you one of its fish.

Who is swimming so hard in the

bank,

not like the one in the tank.

In this long river of memories,

I made you one of its fish.

Who is hard to catch and hard to

Fetch,

Doing whatever it likes.

In this long river of memories,

I made you one of its fish.

For whom forever’s my wait,

Just so I could give him my bait.

In this long river of memories,

I made you one of its fish,

Who is being the cause of my pain,

None but it’s him being the bane.

In this long river of memories,

I made you one of its fish.

Who is so close to me all the time,

The reason I’m not at all fine.

In this long river of memories,

I made you one of its fish.

Who has blissful alluring eyes,

Eyes that put me in stress.

In this long river of memories,

I made you one of its fish.

Finding the ways like the roots,

Just so I could talk to you.
