LISTENING TO THE WIND
It was a lonely day
When I listened to the wind
The lonely wind
The howling wind
The wind so wild and free.
I was lonely and yet not so
For the wind was ever near to me.
Great white clouds on my left
Angry black on my right
But the wind was there with me
Moaning of its plight.
It was a lonely day
When I listened to the wind.
The unhappy wind
The angry wind
The wind so desolate and strong.
The wind spoke to my heart that day
It sounded like a song.
It spoke of sorrows we had known
It spoke of things to be.
I’ll never forget the lonely day.
My friend the wind spoke to me.
