Light

Your eyes hold me like the night sky embracing the stars

My love,

I fear that every time I cause your heart to ache

the stars dissipate as they fall off your face

I fear, one day, not enough stars will remain

to light your way to my decaying heart

My love,

Despite my fading soul and arrogance,

I beg you still hold me

even when you cannot see shadows

I beg you not to let go

even when the only light that remains is you.
