Life Goes On

By Mahira Ahmad

What is life?

So mystifying, gets so overwhelming

Everyday, it is a new chapter for us,

Sometimes, not for all,

But even just making a step unfolds a new page,

And passing by strangers,

It leaves me with a feeling of sonder,

In the depths of my own story,

Each day is a separate thread,

Each minute is,

Sometimes besetting, sometimes charming, sometimes perilous

I have fallen short and will,

But they are the ones who shaped me and will

Life always takes abrupt turns,

It can go either way, the outcome is uncertain,

It is not in our hand but we can steer it,

No matter what, you pour it all, face it all,

And life goes on

When it comes to an end,

Think of it as a new beginning
