Letting go

Original Submission by Kevin Jacob Reguel

Letting go

The summit of ideal

mind akin to wheel, river like zeal

dam on stream yet unkind change bound by shore surging waters demands a new vessel

Wishes by dream, goal by heart

stars within sight, realistically apart

the shifting telescope calls upon a new constellation moons find new stars yet childish spirit grows regretful

Ventured time, grueling effort

my hand is low, “I gotta go high” – I assert a draw, an attempt – risk is realized

steadfast ideal turned cynical

The soul seeks answers to questions binding the void ever shifting mind molding like clay

old paths crumble to aspire something someday forgoing memory to cultivate connections anew

Cumilative wealth, materialized ego

dirt to diamond – indeterminable value

death strips fortune, spirit of ego perpetually accrues which attains living immortality, in death possessions subdue

Bonds in youth, decay by phases

alluring from afar, decrepit on sight within

tis in death the tidal ebbs, the moon dim

the waning loss, waxing love from perdue

A cocoon – its catapillar, aching for wings

its twirling silk, craving flight wishes intiation enshrined worm snags, evolution demands time – forgone blessings useful change needs equanimity

Seeds of purity, nurtures simplicity

the enlightened soul, questions childish ideals

one’s disordered intelligence, caves in its dignity passage of time, maturity pushes ideals to vanity

Glamourous vases, exquisite by the shining light

inauspicious fate, crumbling spirit

yearning for joy, kintsugi vitality reignite

even the broken, find hope in the debris
