Let Go

By Tanushree Mohanta

I held on to you

Like the rain drops on a tin roof..

The attempt was desperate

But hopelessly unyielding..

It was forever destined

To be detached

As they neither could adhere

Nor have the skills to get attached.

So eventually I had to

Let go of the hand,

I miserably clung to..

Now there is nothing,

Only an effortless freefall ,

Into an unfathomable abyss..
