O’ Child thou art a mirror of innocence

Knoweth not the blood your own

The first cry that marked your existence

The umbilical cord of the newborn claiming its mother,a simple evidence

Realizing your identity as soon as you come into this world

O’Child thou art but a mirror of innocence.

In my eyes a bundle of joy,a symbol of mankind

Cast in the blanket of happiness a pure delight

The first cry that marked your existence.

The features of the child but show an unlikely influence

As it grows up a simple confusion in connection with the child's kith and kin

O’Child thou art but a mirror of innocence.

Some say there is a great truth hidden in this divine cadence

With twinkling eyes that reflect the purity of the soul within

The first cry that marked your existence.

And when the child is born after nine months of patience

A simple villanelle is etched to celebrate the birth

O’Child thou art a mirror of innocence

The First cry that marked your existence.
