La belle époque

It was a time of old and vintage

Where everyone was happy, the young & the aged

The leaves and flowers laughed

As the birds across the sky fluttered off

The fragrance of soil was pure

With no place for the chemicals & drugs to tour

The river danced across the rocks seamlessly

Letting the fish swim effortlessly

People were there for one another

Rather than just letting each other smother

All are absorbed into the new trend

Forgetting the value of family and friends

On looking up one could see the sky oh so blue!

In the nights the moon hiding behind the hazy hue

Now the eyes have lost the beautiful view

As it can only see the tall buildings glued!

If only I could travel back to the time of old & vintage

Where time healed the soul and memories were minted!
