Midas loved gold

And wasn't it grand

When objects turned to gold

At the tap of his hand.

He fooled around

And couldn't foresee

That the one thing he really loved

Would no longer be.

You see, dear friends,

This was his undoing:

When you love it too much,

It's not worth pursuing.
