Just for a Little While

She could feel the sand grains,
as she placed her feet on the uneven ground one after the other A sense of autarky as the wind blew through her hair she suddenly felt enough
enough for the cruel corners of the round earth enough for the impractical standards set by unrealistic people Her stride resembled a new found confidence
maybe it was the lack of carping eyes fixated at her As the water periodically touched her skin
She felt revitalised
She was at peace
Undisturbed by the harsh reality of life
She neglected her duties and put her mind to rest Sat down and listened to the ocean
Listened to the clashing waves
and watched them come unharmed to the shore She felt safe and vastly encapsulated.
As she closed her eyes,
a whole hearted smile graced her face
“just for a little while” she whispered.
