Just Enough

Know another just enough

So that you can still genuinely like them.

Do for others just enough

So that you won’t be disappointed if you get nothing in return,

Not even a small kind word.

Give to others just enough

So that you don’t feel as if your generosity has been taken for granted.

Feel for others just enough

So that the feeling is positive and respect is mutual.

Empathize with others just enough

So that you don’t find yourself carrying a burden you can’t manage.

Advise others just enough

So that in doing so both your time and efforts aren’t in vain.

Praise others just enough

So that your praise truly inspires and encourages instead of just being empty words.

Think about others just enough

So that there is value to your thoughts and

You don’t end up feeling wretched for prioritizing others more than yourself.

Share your intimate thoughts and feelings with others just enough

So that you’re not judged harshly or condemned for those thoughts and feelings.

In times of need be there for others just enough

So that you don’t regret it when they aren’t able to do the same thing for you.

Cry just enough

So that your tears are a source of release and relief.

Write just enough

So that what your write results in the right amount of curiosity

And none of the criticism that usually emanates from too much of familiarity.

Love just enough

So that your love offers comfort and brings meaning

to both you and the one being loved by you.

Whatever you do for others, do just enough

So that at the end of it all, you won’t hold them responsible for what you

Think, feel and experience. Or fail to.
