Judas Line Count 16
Of the twelve I like him best.
He’s had a bad press.
If he could have taken back
the kiss, I think he would.
Before he went out to
the lonesome place
where the redbud tree
became his cross
did he hesitate?
half turn to go back?
His sin, not treason
but despair.
And what would I do
for thirty pieces?
From this I fashion
my own Gethsemane.
