Joker
By Chirag Ajmera
I walked down the street, dressed as a clown,
And without a reason, I was beaten to the ground;
See… my chains? These shackles,
They kept me down there;
For the sake of the society,
I chose to play it fair;
It was in the society, I searched for an identity,
For sympathy, for warmth, for recognition and respect;
It was in my isolation, I found my condition,
My sufferings, my pain, my truth and your neglect;
I desired no riches, no fortune no glory, no merry, no wine,
I was born to spread joy and laughter, said to me by mother mine;
But again I was beaten, And again down to the ground,
Haaaaaa…. Ha…ha…ha…haaaaaaaaaa…..
This time, I killed those three, as my instincts rebound;
You took me for a mask to hide your true face,
You made me a symbol, to execute your disgrace.
You….. You….. all are slaves, to your time, and society, and rules,
To the mask that you pretend to have on your face;
Me? I got nothing to lose. For my whole life, I didn’t knew I existed,
And yet….. I’ve….. I’ve got a smile on my face;
Haaaaaa…. Ha…ha…ha…haaaaaaaaaaaaaaa…..
And you have Hope. It makes you proud. It gives you a reason,
A reason to do things that you otherwise cannot;
I thought… Ha…ha…ha… my life… ha… ha… that my life was a tragedy, But it’s a fucking comedy…
Haaaaaa…. Ha…ha…ha…haaaaaa;
Because I… Ha…ha…ha…I just hope… that… Ha…ha…ha…haaaaaa, I just hope that my death makes more cents than my life,
Haaaaaa…. Ha…ha…ha…haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa…..
See… I am not a criminal.
I don’t kill people.
I am above all of that.
I just give choices.
You… get to choose. Yes... You get to make a decision...
Your conscience… Ha…ha…ha…haaaaaa…
Or….. your life… Haaaaaa…. Ha…ha…ha…haaaaaa;
And what does THAT make me?
