The foolish heart

Wants to melt again

To caress

Those arrogant tresses

To drown in your

Firm embraces

To kiss

Every inch of your flesh

To serve you

With each breath

They say it is between

You and Him

Not you and them

And so the foolish heart

Wants to melt again

But time that vicious beast

That gave this Life on lease

Won’t allow another trench

This pulsating throbbing fool

Drinking off your ruins

Must leave unquenched

Perhaps we could

Seal the deal

With just another vent

But Honour

That stubborn horse

Refuses to bend!

And so the Need

I must transcend

This revelry now

must end!

But not before

We have a good laugh

About the innocent fool

That wants to mend !
