It Won’t Satiate Me

Alessandra Jade

In all my loftly longing

I did dreams

Attach with strings,

And so softly in sing-songing

I took honey

With its sting.

And in all my haughtly hoping

I did want

A catch of plenty

But so gauntly my eloping

Left me scarce

And it won’t satiate me.

Now in all of my perusing

I am huntly

As a hound;

But sweet apples take their bruisings

When they, hungry,

Hit the ground.

So in all my deadlock dealings

I still want my

Plenty, please.

And in all my worldly wanting

I know

It won’t satiate me.
