Episode 1 Characters
Harrison: Male, 60yo. Dean of a renowned university in Singapore and a friend of Sherlock
Lina: Female, 55yo. Harrison’s separated wife
Steve: Male, 50yo, Harrison’s brother
Volunteers: Two in 20 something age, females
Crowd: Few people required of both genders including an ex student, the central character in episode 5. She is dressed in a man like attire, glasses, short hair.
FADE IN:
INT. – MIDDLETON INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL – EDEN HALL– NIGHT
A nice, decorated hall is packed with guests: students, teachers, friends and family. A volunteer walks around the room offering refreshments to empty-handed guests.
At the end of the volunteer’s trail are a couple of workers tidying up a banner on the main stage. Finished, they behold the sign to read “Happy Retirement, Professor Harrison!”
Once visible, the hall floor is erupted with claps and cheers as each individual starts to notice the outstanding poster.
The volunteer returns back to the punch table when LINA, Harrison’s ex-wife, walks by.
LINA
Do you have it ready?
The volunteer nods and offers Lina a full tray of punch. She takes it and makes her way to the back area.
INT. – TEACHER’S LOUNGE – NIGHT
In the teacher’s lounge are another group, but much smaller compared to the crowd in the hall. They’re singing, “For He’s a Jolly Good Fellow” to the man of the night, Professor HARRISON, who blushes at the gesture. Lina enters at the end with the tray.
HARRISON
But I’m not even on stage yet.
STEVE, Harrison’s brother, pats him on the shoulder.
STEVE
You’ll get and deserve that praise everywhere you go, this is your day, go for it!
Harrison hugs his brother before looking at the sink mirror, checking his tie and hair as Lina approaches him.
HARRISON
Be honest with me, Lina. How do I look?
He turns to her fully as Lina eyes at his attire. She reaches to adjust his tie.
LINA
You look great(stressing on word look more to sound like he only looks great) … as usual.
Harrison smiles. After a brief pause between the two, Lina offers Harrison a glass of punch.
LINA (CONT.)
For luck?
He takes the drink and is about to sip before an ex student, tom boyish looking woman bursts through the door in excitement, causing Harrison to spill a portion of his drink on Lina, who gasps and immediately runs away in disgust and embarrassment.
EX STUDENT
Sorry to interrupt, but you’ll never guess who stopped by.
Everyone waits in confusion until SHERLOCK Holmes steps in to the delight of Harrison and the shock of the other individuals.
HARRISON
Sherlock! I’m so glad you could make it.
SHERLOCK
It’s a celebration I wouldn’t want to miss, dear friend.
The two embrace, as the others look on surprised, confused, and dumbfounded.
HARRISON
Everyone, this is my good friend, Sherlock Holmes. He and I have been friends for many years. We met as a matter of fact while I was visiting London, and never in my life have I encountered as brilliant of a genius as this man right here. Needs no introduction. Could crack even the most impossible cases in mere minutes with the help of his assistant Dr. Watson and.. speaking of which, where is the Doctor and the bright lady at the moment?
SHERLOCK
Watson will be here momentarily. With our daily investigations, he’s rarely had any time to relax and enjoy himself. Lestrade had to meet her aunt here in Singapore.
STEVE
And what about you, sir? Got an opportunity to rest?
SHERLOCK
Oh I was able to relax on the plane, and I enjoy parties, too.
He pulls out his signature pipe.
SHERLOCK (CONT.)
Do you mind?
HARRISON
Not at all, it’s after school hours.
VOLUNTEER
Also sir, they have the banner set and ready. All they’re waiting for now is the man of the hour.
HARRISON
Thank you so much dear (to volunteer). (To Sherlock) Well, it’s great to know that you were able to make it with no trouble. I best be getting ready.
He signals Steve, and the two leave the room.
INT. - HALL – NIGHT
Dr. John WATSON is at the appetizers’ table, filling up his plate with anything appealing he can find. Sherlock steps beside him.
SHERLOCK
Anything good?
WATSON
Not as good as London, but have you tried these cakes? Unlike anything I’ve ever tasted. How’s the professor.
SHERLOCK
He’s doing well; I’m not sure about his friend though.
WATSON
What do you mean?
SHERLOCK
I heard a spill when someone burst into the room, and then I caught a woman leaving ashamed. Haven’t seen her since.
WATSON
Ah I don’t think I’ve been to an event where that hasn’t happened. Hey, Prof Moriarty cannot be here u kiasu, y u like that lah..Bojio here.
SHERLOCK
Bad joke and worst singlish ever. Give up dude.
The two share a hearty laugh.
INT. – BACKSTAGE – NIGHT
Harrison is anxiously pacing back and forward. Steve is sitting down watching the situation.
STEVE
It’ll be okay, Harrison. It’s just like any normal speech you do for the day.
HARRISON
But it’s nothing like this. This has been my life for decades all for this one moment. Every supporter is out there waiting to hear something good, something to remember me by.
Steve takes Harrison and places him on a chair.
STEVE
You’ve gone through a lot, Harrison. I know what you went through with Lina in past 2 years but tonight is your retirement celebration night. This is something you’ve built towards your entire life. Everyone is out there because you haven’t let any of them down.
VOLUNTEER #2 enters from the curtain with a cup of punch.
VOLUNTEER #2
We’re ready for you guys. Here’s your drink Mr Steve you asked for.
STEVE
Thank you.
The volunteer leaves while Steve hands Harrison a cup of punch.
STEVE
Do me a favor: drink this, take a deep breath, and go out and have a good time. That’s all tonight is supposed to be.
He kisses Harrison’s forehead and leaves through the curtain.
INT. – HALL – NIGHT
Through the curtain, Steve exits out onto the main stage of the hall. The room echoes with applause as the second volunteer hands Steve the microphone.
STEVE
It’s so amazing seeing how many people are here. Teachers, students, alumni. All of you here to celebrate the career of one person. My brother’s goal in life was simply to help others find themselves. Being the Dean of such a wonderful university, he fulfilled his promise to ensure that every student succeeded. If someone were to get in trouble, get into a fight; Harrison wouldn’t rest until that person was given a second chance. He has inspired and changed many lives ( camera will zoom into few faces). I can stand here and talk all night about how great of a man this person is. How much of an honor it was for the teachers to have worked with him; the students to have learned from him, and how it’s such an honor for me to stand here and say that he is my brother. Ladies and gentlemen, may I present to the stage, my friend, my inspiration, my brother, Harrison Jones.
The entire room erupts with a thunderous applause as every person in the audience cheers for Harrison. He walks through the curtains, looking a little pale from nerves.
He’s taken aback by the reception from the audience and smiles while he hugs his brother and takes the microphone. He walks over to the stand until he suddenly collapses onto the floor.
Shock and gasps fill the audience. Sherlock looks on in horror as Steve rushes to his brother.
STEVE
Get me paramedics! Anybody!
A couple of people rush onto the stage and surround the scene while everything seems slow as if everything is taking its time. Dr. Watson checks Harrison’s pulse and shakes his head at a heartbroken Steve.
CUT TO:
INT. – TEACHER’S LOUNGE – NIGHT
Sherlock, Watson, Steve, and a group of others including the likes of Lina are present in the room in disbelief.
LINA
How did it happen? Anyone doctor here?
WATSON
I’m a doctor, let me check.
Pause.
WATSON(CONT.)
I know it’s going to be hard for all of you, but..
STEVE (INTERUPPTING)
This isn’t right. He wasn’t sick. There was nothing wrong with him.
SHERLOCK
Steve, you’re going to need to calm down.
STEVE
The hell with that! Someone has murdered my brother! My flesh and blood, and I’ll be damned if I’m just going to stand here and do nothing!
SHERLOCK
What do you have so far, Watson?
WATSON
No pulse. He was dead immediately when he collapsed. It might’ve been cardiac arrest from stress. You said he was nervous before he got on stage, correct?
STEVE
Yes, but it wasn’t anything serious. It was just regular stage fright.
WATSON
But with his age, anything is possible.
SHERLOCK
Mind if I observe the body, doctor?
WATSON
Help yourself.
INT. – Hall – NIGHT
Sherlock is right where Harrison’s body had collapsed. He rises up to the occasion to do policing and interviewing part, checking on guests. He notices blood dripping from Harrison’s mouth.
He takes a vial and collects a sample of Harrison’s blood before exiting through the curtain.
INT. – BACKSTAGE – NIGHT
Sherlock enters through the curtain and looks around for clues. He sees old props from past performances, but soon notices a chair with the cup Steve had given Harrison.
He walks over to the chair and picks up the cup. He puts it to his nose and takes a brief sniff before realizing what it is.
INT. – TEACHER’S LOUNGE – NIGHT
Lina and Steve are on opposite sides of the room arguing about the situation.
LINA
You think I did it?
STEVE
Well it’s not hard to understand why.
LINA
He may be my ex husband, but that doesn’t mean I’d want to kill him.
WATSON
This will not solve anything.
STEVE
Why don’t you tell that to the lawsuit you filed, you cold bitch?
Things start to turn into chaos as arguing soon turns into shouting between the two until Sherlock steps through the door.
SHERLOCK
Am I intruding on something?
Pause.
WATSON
Did you find anything?
SHERLOCK
As a matter of fact, I did. While I was inspecting Harrison’s body, I came across this.
He shows everyone the cup.
SHERLOCK (CONT.)
This was found backstage next to the chair where I believe Harrison was sitting to relieve his stress. From my inspections, it’s easy to deduce that this cup was poisoned.
LINA
Poison?
SHERLOCK
Arsenic, as a matter of fact. Great element to get the job done soon, but in this case I’d say minutes. Over a quarter of the cup was filled with it from the strong smell.
STEVE
But that’s impossible. I was with him. I couldn’t have missed the smell.
SHERLOCK
Where did the cup come from?
STEVE
It was just on a tray given by one of the volunteers. Volunteers were brought in by…
He turns his attention to Lina.
STEVE (CONT.)
You! You poisoned him!
LINA
I swear to you it wasn’t me. I had no access to any poison whatsoever. There has to be a mistake, detective.
The volunteer walks in.
VOLUNTEER
Sorry to interrupt, but I found this on the floor near the punch table.
In her hand happens to be a bottle of poison. Everyone stares in shock and then back to Lina.
SHERLOCK
Watson, I’m going to need you to go to the function hall and tell the officers and paramedics to lock down the doors and keep anyone from getting out. As a matter of fact, get everyone’s cellular devices and bring them here immediately. No one is getting out until we solve this. Watson, I’m going to need you to help me unlock this.
He holds out Harrison’s phone.
WATSON
Shouldn’t take too long.
SHERLOCK
Steve, you seem to be rather fond of putting Lina on display as a primary suspect. May I ask why?
STEVE
Lina had filed for divorce against him a couple years ago along with an alimony that would guarantee to take everything away from him. Fortunately, she couldn’t because she was a working executive herself, but that didn’t stop the two from despising each other. I’ve never seen how love can easily turn into hate, and hate I never thought I could ever imagine between the two. They were made for each other, and then suddenly everything changed right in front of them. It only took until just a couple months ago that Harrison and Lina would finally start talking again, but the damage was already done.
SHERLOCK
Lina, may I take a look at your phone?
Lina hands it over while Steve stares at her.
STEVE
Why did you come any way?
Pause.
LINA
To make peace. Not just for him, but for myself. Even though I did those things: the lawsuit, the alimony, I still cared about him, that’s why I was her on his special day.
WATSON
It’s unlocked. Here you are.
He hands the phone over to Sherlock, who examines previous messages from Harrison.
SHERLOCK
According to this, it seems you two have had a recent conversation.
LINA
It was when he invited me to the ceremony, that’s all.
SHERLOCK
Well, according to the last text you had sent, it reads “Count me with you and your celebration, who knows! It could very well be your last celebration.”
Steve gives Lina a look of pure anger.
WATSON
Now Sherlock, we mustn’t rule out the other possibilities here.
STEVE
Why’s that, doctor. We already know she did it.
LINA
It wasn’t me!
SHERLOCK
Watson, we’re going to have to investigate further back at the hotel. We need Lina’s legal file, a list of every guest present at the ceremony, clues from social media, or anything that in some way links to Harrison. (To Lina) Mind if I borrow this for the night?
LINA
Ofcourse.
[SOUND: Sherlock’s mobile phone rings.
POV on mobile screen – “Partner in Crime”. Sherlock answers the phone]
SHERLOCK
What timing Lestrade! Need you (takes a pause),also need you for an urgent case. Meet me in exactly one hour. See ya.
(To Steve and Lina) We’ll get to the bottom of this sooner than later. Promise.
INT. HOTEL ROOM – HOTEL – NIGHT
Sherlock, Watson, and Inspector LESTRADE are investigating certain aspects of the case. Holmes has Lina’s file. Watson has a list of guests, while Lestrade is searching through Harrison’s contacts and social media.
Sherlock notices one of the allegations Lina put in her legal file was of a sexual harassment case by a former student of Harrison’s. She charged him around 20 years ago for sexual abuse, but Harrison got away with the power and influence Harrison had.
SHERLOCK
Hmmm. School records are also attached here validating that a girl named Nancy had filed a complaint to the school management then. I never thought Harrison would be called out upon this kind of action. Do you have anything, Watson?
WATSON
In terms of suspects or recent adversaries to Harrison, not at the moment. No Nancy in guest list.
LESTRADE
I might have found something here. Harrison has Nancy’s contact info, but nothing more on that matter.
SHERLOCK
Did you check Lina’s phone?
Lestrade pulls out the device and browses through.
LESTRADE
Sherlock. I’ve got something. It’s a list of Lina’s calls.
She hands the phone over to Sherlock (their hands touch and eyes meet for 3 seconds) and Sherlock looks in to find a list of calls made to Nancy. He looks back up to Lestrade.
SHERLOCK
Well done!
He puts the file away as he looks over to Watson and Lestrade.
SHERLOCK (CONT.)
Guys, get some rest. We have a big day ahead of us.
Sherlock blows out his candle and everything goes to black.
THE END
It Wasn’t Me- Episode 2 of the Sherlock Series
Episode 2 Characters
Nancy: Female, 40yo. Harrison’s ex-student
Daisy: Female, 40yo, Harrison’s ex-student
Harry: Restaurateur. Any age, gender, ethnicity
FADE IN:
EXT. – NANCY’S HOUSE – FRONT PORCH – DAY
NANCY looks at SHERLOCK, WATSON, and LESTRADE almost as if she’s been caught.
SHERLOCK
Hi Nancy. Nice to meet you, Well my self Holmes, Sherlock Homes, an investigation officer with my team Dr. Watson and Inspector Lestrade. We are currently investigating the recent murder of Professor Harrison Jones. We’ve interviewed a couple of individuals, and we thought you could be of assistance.
NANCY
Interrupts) No, it wasn’t me.
The three look completely surprised.
WATSON
Pardon?
NANCY
It wasn’t me.
LESTRADE
I don’t understand, Madame. You were not there last night, you sound informed, none knew that we would come to you. May we know who called you about this? We need your phone to check.
NANCY
Why’s that?
SHERLOCK
Well as of right now, you’re currently a primary suspect in the murder of one of the most influential people in Singapore, so if you’d like to prove your innocence without having to go through court or any other investigation, I’d suggest you let me take a look at your phone.
Reluctantly, Nancy unlocks her phone and hands it over to Lestrade.
SHERLOCK (CONT.)
Thank you, darling.
Lestrade checks the phone and finds no calls exchanges with Lina
LESTRADE
Lina’s phone log clearly states that you had previously been in touch with Lina. I see all calls with Lina deleted now. No calls details since last 3 days with anyone. Need I say more?
NANCY
(Looks nervous) Well, yes I deleted her calls and all other calls as I didn’t want to get into this mess. Yes, I was in touch with Lina, but it’s not for the reasons you think. Lina wanted to beat Harrison in court. Nothing more than to get what she thought she deserved, so to sabotage his testimony, she called me to try and build hers. That’s what the calls in her phone were for. After what he did to me, the idea of him losing for once was enough to persuade me to help out, but I did nothing more.
WATSON
Well that was anticlimactic.
He swipes through her social media accounts to find a post by Nancy on sexual harassment.
WATSON
How long ago was this post?
NANCY
I’d say around three months.
SHERLOCK
Watson, do any of the names who commented on post look familiar?
WATSON
Common names from the event’s guest lists in the post are Massaba, Jorine, Wilson and Nyasa
SHERLOCK
Hang on. You mentioned you deleted Lina’s calls and ‘others’, who are these ‘others’? We have a way to check deleted logs if you do not tell us the truth.
NANCY (CONT.)
They are irrelevant to the case. My ex-classmates shared in our WA group this news of demise of Harrison yesterday. That’s how I had called them up to find out as to what happened and deleted my call logs done with them.
Nancy shows pictures of her WA group friends and Sherlock zooms into one picture.
SHERLOCK
(Taps at Daisy’s picture). Who is she? She resembles that lady, one who spilled the drink that day, she mentioned her name was John..Daisy John. Nancy, tell us about her.
Insert: Daisy’s picture shown to the audience in full view while Nancy is talking about her off screen.
NANCY (CONT.)
That’s Daisy. I called her up too as she had told us she was going with her friend John there. She’s a former classmate of mine. We hadn’t been in touch for decades, until she suddenly reached out around three or four months ago, I recall after my social media post on sexual harassment article.
CUT TO Nancy’s face:
NANCY (CONT.)
She’s a very shy person, she wouldn’t publically express herself, I recall she had called me after she saw my post and since then we got connected after years. She works for a private company and currently stays alone in her apartment.
Sherlock, Watson and Lestrade thank Nancy and take a leave.
EXT. - A STREET NAME HARBOUR FRONT OR TANAH MERAH FERRY ROAD
They walk towards their car. Watson goes to driving seat first but looks at the ‘street name’, then at Sherlock and Lestrade, he steps back and offers Sherlock and Lestrade to sit in front and drive while he relaxes behind. Lestrade and Sherlock smile.
INT. – FRONT PORCH OF DAISY’S HOUSE – DAY
WATSON
Let partners in crime lead me all the way to find the partners in another crime…before they vanish in a ferry.
They laugh and leave for Daisy’s house.
INT. – FRONT PORCH OF DAISY’S HOUSE – DAY
A knock on the door is heard and DAISY, in a childlike get up answers to see Sherlock, Watson, and Lestrade outside.
DAISY
Can I help you?
SHERLOCK
Hi Daisy, you are Nancy’s friend? We are investigating officers for Prof. Harrison’s death. We met you at Prof Harrison’s party also.
DAISY
(Looks expressions less) Come in please.
She moves herself out of the way and lets the three make their way inside the house.
INT. – LIVING ROOM – DAISY’S HOUSE – DAY
The trio is sitting on the couch while Daisy brings out a pot of tea.
DAISY
Tea anyone?
LESTRADE
No thanks. Looks like you were going out somewhere? (looking at her childlike hairdo and attire)
DAISY
Excuse me please.
Gets up and goes inside kitchen, talks to someone on headphone) Hi I will meet you later,
please go right now, see you at dinner.
On her way back, Daisy gets some drinks for visitors.
DAISY (Contd.)
Sorry. So how may I help you three this afternoon? Please have some drinks.
SHERLOCK
Well we are currently investigating the recent murder of Professor Harrison Jones. We’ve interviewed a couple of individuals, and we thought you could be of assistance.
DAISY
I heard. I was invited but I was sick so I sent my wishes through my friend John on my behalf. Such awful news. He was a famous professor.
Sherlock, Watson and Lestrade look at each other in surprise.
SHERLOCK
Where does John live? Can you show me his picture?
DAISY
(Hams) J..john… he.. he visits me on weekends. He is a lieutenant, coaches students serving NS, National Service in Singapore.
SHERLOCK
You were speaking to him only just now?
Daisy seems confused and nods her head hesitantly.
On checking her phone Sherlock finds there was no call received or made on Daisy’s phone that day. On probing, she confesses she talks to herself.
DAISY
Please ignore that, I do speak with myself. I’m bit artistic, all artists have some madness.
WATSON
Sure. Can you pls show us around? Your house and artworks?
Daisy takes them around and her bedroom is full of things like her own pictures dressed up as a lieutenant, as a small girl, as her real self, few drawings of children. By her bedside Sherlock finds a notebook. Pictures in the notebook range from dolls to drawings, crossword games and oddly scribbled handwriting of different styles, signed off by Daisy, Mariah, John and Eliza ( writer will provide one liner note by each to show on screen to viewers). This one note catches Sherlock’s attention the most, signed off by John.
It reads “In the garden of Eden, Adam and Eve not only disobeyed God, but they were also poisoned.”
SHERLOCK
(Showing this note to Daisy) Is this same John who went for Prof Harrison’s party on your behalf?
Daisy becomes extremely nervous, starts scratching the sofa she is sitting on.
WATSON
You were Nancy’s classmate when that unfortunate incident happened with her. Did you support her then? Were you in touch with Nancy?
Daisy is unable to sit through.
DAISY
I’m not feeling well. I need to go to washroom for a sec.
INT. – BATHROOM – DAISY’S HOUSE – NIGHT
Daisy is inside her bathroom and in mirror she sees first herself as a child (screen name of the girl flashes as Mariah- Description – playful, loves art, Daisy’s alter since age of 5). Next in mirror comes her image as a strong young man John (name on screen displays- John, Description-a belligerent lieutenant stronger and fiercer than anyone in “his” way.)
Third she sees herself as a young, glamorous girl in 30’s (name on screen and description displays- Eliza- Youthful, attractive woman, Daisy’s confidant alter Daisy shares her secrets with since her college time). These alters come in mirror one by one and Daisy sees herself in these characters. Feeling comforted, assured, Daisy washes her face and goes back to the living room.
INT. – LIVING ROOM – DAISY’S HOUSE – DAY
LESTRADE
DID? Shows from this medical file of yours Ms Daisy. That’s why you were talking to yourself?
DAISY
Yes (Admits with teary eyes). Dissociative Identity Disorder. It was validated a long time ago by my doctor; back when I was living with my family still. Sexual abuse, violence, and bullying grew on my fragile mind while growing up, at each age, I faced it and I was sinking and I tried to take my life a few times. Then I met this 7 year old Mariah, an angel like girl who perhaps went through same but seemed so peaceful, she pacified me. John came to my life in my teens, when I was being bullied in school. He gave me strength, by becoming him, I for once lived like a male, who are strong, who don’t get sexually harassed, John could bash anyone on earth who dared to bully him, I was him, strong and he made me forget I was not attractive female to get any attention or respect from males. I didn’t like myself seeing as a woman at times, John helped me overcome this. I shared all this with Eliza, who I men in my 20’s, right after Nancy’s and Harrison’s incident. She keeps my secrets and never shared with anyone. When they are not with me, I just don’t feel like there’s any confidence in me, and it gets worse every day. I don’t know why DID is looked at by most people as a disorder.
My alters Mariah, John, Eliza are my lifeguards, they give me a lot of courage and hope for myself as a person. I feel protected, strong, and for once confident. I used to call them an illness, but they keep me up on my feet.
SHERLOCK
It’s good to know you’ve found some peace.
Could you excuse us for a moment?
DAISY
Of course.
SHERLOCK
Thank you.
INT. – DINING ROOM – DAY
The three walk into the dining room. Sherlock turns to the other two with the notebook in his hand.
SHERLOCK
I think we’re closer than we thought on ending this case.
He opens the note book to the page signed off by John and reads out his note aloud.
SHERLOCK (CONT.)
“In the garden of Eden, Adam and Eve not only disobeyed God, but they were also poisoned.”
LESTRADE
What does this help us with?
SHERLOCK
Simple, my good Inspector. You see Watson and I were present with the rest of the guests and Professor Harrison at Eden Hall, the exact location where Harrison was poisoned. If there is anything to assume here, it’s that one of her alters, in this case its John who must’ve been responsible for the death, he is the one who signed right here, then I theorize that Daisy is the culprit under her alter’s influence.
WATSON
Only theorize?
SHERLOCK
For the time being, yes, but the only reason I have is why? Why would Daisy, or in this case John, want to kill as influential of a man as Professor Harrison? Watson, do you remember if you saw a person by the name of John on the guest list?
WATSON
Tons, but Daisy’s name was on the list as Daisy John.
SHERLOCK
Bingo! So never mind me theorizing. I know Daisy is responsible.
LESTRADE
How do you know though? John could’ve been a simple guest like everyone else.
SHERLOCK
True, but you didn’t look at her phone.
LESTRADE
Daisy’s?
SHERLOCK
Not Daisy’s.
WATSON
Nancy’s.
SHERLOCK
Precisely! On Nancy’s phone, she had that post about sexual harassment. Daisy happened to have struck a chord with Nancy again, although built long ago at the time when incident happened. They came in contact years later, only after that post. When Daisy mentioned her alters give her strength to fight her fears of violence, bullying, and sexual abuse, one can relate her connection with Nancy’s ordeal which got revived from this post of Nancy. From the scratchy handwriting to the mention of Adam and Eve being poisoned, it all zeros down to John in the end, so here’s how this is all coming together in my mind. Get your pen and paper ready, Watson because it’s a doozy.
WATSON
Ready.
SHERLOCK
Right, so here’s how it all started. With sex, bullying, and violence being the three main fears for Daisy, it’s obvious enough to say that she’s experienced her own personal trauma of each fear in her life, so for her to have these alternate personalities in her life while she was still living with her family, these are experiences that have greatly affected her for naturally her entire lifespan. From her reaching out to Nancy, who happened to have dealt with the possibility of being sexually abused by Mr. Harrison, it gives me the impression that Daisy herself has dealt with sexual abuse her entire life. It could be from her father, a family member, or maybe even Professor Harrison as well, but the abuse she went through goes a lot toward the trauma Nancy had faced. They were former classmates when they attended school together, so Daisy must have seen Nancy breakdown throughout the years because of the incident, and then when Nancy made a post just recently, it brought back that exact memory to Daisy.
LESTRADE
Where would John get involved?
SHERLOCK
With the announcement of Harrison’s retirement party at Eden Hall, I think it brought John in as a way to help Daisy feel better. She hated that someone else was going through sexual abuse similar to what she’s suffered, so John took over and gave Daisy the idea to poison Harrison. For Harrison to die moments before he went up to give his big speech, it would give both Daisy and Nancy in the mind of John justice for Harrison’s actions before he got the opportunity to celebrate the biggest moment of his career. Being an alum at the university, it’s no brainer that Daisy was sent an invitation, but John overpowered Daisy and went as Daisy. While everyone was mingling and having a great time, John snuck backstage and poisoned the cup Steve had for him, so while Steve was onstage giving him the introduction, it gave John the perfect time to poison Harrison at Eden hall for his past actions. Elementary at its finest, my dear Watson.
While Sherlock speaks this, screen will show scenes of Daisy trying to dress up like John, signing off guest arrival list as Daisy John, repeat scene from episode 4 of Daisy spilling the juice intentionally will replay, scene extends by showing Daisy mixing poison in a cup of juice and changing the glass in the tray volunteer kept for Harrison.
WATSON
Bloody-good thinking!
LESTRADE
How do we then discuss the matter to Ms. Daisy?
INT. – LIVING ROOM – DAISY’S HOUSE – DAY
The three return to find Daisy talking to herself, presumably Eliza as if she’s trying to hold a secret from the trio.
LESTRADE
Ms. Daisy?
Daisy brings her attention forward and looks at the three.
DAISY
Yes?
SHERLOCK
We would like to ask the purpose of this note right here.
He shows her the note John had signed into the notebook.
DAISY
I think John was upset when he wrote that. I could tell from how rough the writing looks.
SHERLOCK
Do you have any idea why?
DAISY
I… I… don’t… remember.
She suddenly starts to break down.
DAISY (CONT.)
I’m sorry. I didn’t know John would do what happened. I didn’t do anything wrong. It wasn’t me. It wasn’t me! It wasn’t me! It wasn’t me!
EXT. – STREETS – EVENING
Cops are taking Daisy away as she screams out the same thing repeatedly.
DAISY
It wasn’t me! It wasn’t me!
They finally put her in the van and shut it as Daisy accepts her fate.
DAISY (CONT.)
It wasn’t me.
The car drives away as an OFFICER approaches Sherlock, Watson, and Lestrade.
WATSON
Will she be okay?
OFFICER
She’ll be fine. Hoping by the end of this, we’ll be able to hand her over to rehab so she can get the medical care and treatment she needs. Thank you for all of your help.
SHERLOCK
Not a problem, officer.
The officer leaves while STEVE and LINA arrive at the scene.
STEVE
Did you find out who did it?
SHERLOCK
A former student of Harrison’s with an unfortunate disorder. Everything is okay now.
STEVE
I don’t know how I can thank you. All of you. I really appreciate the time you took to help out. I was actually going to give Lina dinner as an apology. It’d be great if the three of you could join us if possible.
SHERLOCK
Appreciate the gesture, but we must be getting ready to leave soon. Singapore’s a lovely place to get to know, and hopefully we’ll be able to stop by again.
LINA
It was an honor to meet you, sir.
SHERLOCK
My privilege. Farewell.
The group part ways.
WATSON
Will there ever be a day where we can experience a real vacation? I mean just an opportunity for us to relax at least?
LESTRADE
All you have to do is quit.
WATSON
Well I don’t mean that, but I was beginning to like Singapore.
SHERLOCK
There’ll be another time, Watson.
WATSON
When?
SHERLOCK
When the world for once becomes unpredictable.
WATSON
I still think we should at least get a pint.
LESTRADE
For once today, I actually agree with John.
WATSON
Exactly. (Winking) Its been quite a Johny day isn’t it.
