It's The Little Things

Watching a movie,
Looking back at you to see whether you were awake,
Only to find your eyes already latched on to the curves of my face.
It’s the little things.
Sitting on the park bench where our knees accidentally touch on purpose,
Both of us sitting as still as the tension in the air,
Too afraid to lose the subtle contact.
It’s the little things.
Leaving the party to get a breath of fresh air,
While you follow me,
Slipping an easy white lie - “because I’m bored.”
“I’m bored too” I say just as easily.
And we both stand outside laughing,
Hoping this time, this little thing,
Could be our eternal truth.
