Is Mediocrity Dystopic?

The incorrigible fretfulness

Over dwelling nothingness

Of all and sundry

Is cloaked by tasteless pedantry.

Dictating mere rhetoric

Mediocrity is Dystopic

Captive in blemishes

Of ordinary dreams and wishes.

Acknowledging the pain

Not of prosperous but of vain,

That efforts sluice down

The quick sand town.

Seeking inconvenient aspirations

Inhibiting all distractions

As if affliction is indispensible

To pursue the unconventional.

As if, it’s just lack of diligence

Perhaps unworthy intelligence

As if, nobody’s jaded

By the unjust path that’s fated

As if destiny is intentional

As if, it’s nothing if not exceptional

As if, ordinary is despicable

Not soaring flight is unacceptable.

Is still a house of cards

That shatters into shards

Becoming insignificantly substantial,

Nonetheless worthwhile special?
