Is Democracy The Right Form Of Governemnt

Democracy a system in which the government of a country is elected by the people.

A government is there for the betterment and help for the citizens, it’s there to maintain a decorum for which it makes rules, but after all it’s the citizens who have to follow these rules, so isn’t it fair if we choose our leader by ourselves.

Well I think it’s absolutely correct, managing the nation is a big responsibility. Government is for the people, hence it should be by the people.

Every political party makes several promises before the elections, but it’s true that everyone may not do so, and that is something that we all know so before giving our vote to someone we have to think very wisely, hence there is a sense of decision making in the citizens, to choose the right person for themselves. And decision making is a very important quality that one should have for the betterment of our own life.

But every coin has two sides, all that mention above is one side of the coin, like all even this topic has another side.

So let’s have a look on the other side.

At times democracy becomes nothing but just political play, a competition. People are given money by the political parties to vote them, hence they are bribed. They make several promises and even declare many things for free and that is something for which poor people get attracted to and then vote.

People may become biased for many reasons, not only in the greed of money but many a times because of their helplessness. At times people may be in dire need of money, or may be blackmailed to give the votes.

The votes are purchased, so how can such a person rule the whole nation who has been elected on the basis of money. More the money provided by the party, more the votes. How can money decide the ability of a person.

With this not only the votes are purchased, but the ability of a capable person becomes useless for no reason.

Conclusion is that political parties can extend up to anything to get the votes, but the fact that can’t be denied is that there is some kind of understanding between the people and the political party if it has been elected by the citizens as there may be some special quality noticed in the party that out of many parties that one was elected.
