Into The Night

Into the night I walk alone,

The stars bright,

My thoughts dry.

Into the night I walk alone,

My eyes red,

But my tears dry.

Into the night I walk alone,

I hear the predators roar,

The hymns of the wild dry.

Into the night I walk alone,

The statesman salute in mockery,

For the future which is dry.

Into the night I walk alone,

Arms full of burden,

With legs trudging the path nigh dry.

Into the night I walk alone,

Dodging fusillades, at my hopes end,

Forever my tenacity ne'er dry.

Into the night I walk alone,

My path haply less traveled,

But ne'er is the verdure dry.

Into the night I walk alone,

Seemingly empty lands now filled,

Never to be alone, ne'er to be dry.

Into the night ne'er to walk alone,

For I have found my calling, my land,

Interlaced with many, ne'er will my thoughts be dry.
