Inertia

Alice was hiking on the hills.

she loved them a lot.

she didn’t notice it when time stood still

her feet on the edge of a cliff.

fear crept up her feet to paralyse her,

a long fall stood before.

and she stood there, her eyes wide, they were,

she should have moved, but her feet loved the floor.

inertia, they call it

inertia of fear, befall her

she should have moved, but she stalled it

for she feared that leaving would collapse her world.

isn’t it so ironic?

how everyone’s feet love certain ground

it’s like each relation is chronic

inertia not letting you leave even when to pain you’re bound.

why do hearts love to go where they get broken?

why is subconscious qualm woven?

why do hearts not leave unspoken?

why do they remain frozen?

why don’t they move?

why do they not prevent corrosion?
