Have a passion

And let it not be love

Leave love to the drunk and lonely

To delusional writers and lost poets

To artists who’ve spent lifetimes just moving on

But if that’s not what you want

Then be a moth to the flame

Give your all and ask for nothing in return

scorch yourself like Icarus

And let your love kill you

There’s no in-between

The shore wasn’t built for the sailor

The arrogance of unacceptance

When giving up is so easy

Is either a critical fault

Or a dangerous power

Of the human condition

So, if your passion is love

Then don’t ever be a brick in the wall
