In The Mind Of An Overthinker

Chasing each other like kids unbothered by life

Flying over each other like vehicles on a busy expressway

Spiralling down and crashing like sugar high kids on an outing

Thoughts run rampant within and outside me

Every nerve ending fires with a new one

It’s birth and death unknown

Every muscle twitch in response

Drags my attention back and forth

Dilated pupils, elevated heartbeat

Uncontrollable shivers and unfocussed reality

A vague sense of understanding begins to formulate

For I’m in the mind of an overthinker
