In The Hours of Moonlight

Gazing up at the sky, waiting for the stars to be

Maybe been a bit too long

I lay bare my heart of love

Shying away from their companion

They refuse to meet me

Embittered of the distance,

They refuse to meet me

All I see are infinite lights

Blinding me.

Pulling me from my love.

They’re angry at me, the stars

Blazing incandescently in vexation

Haven’t met them for the longest hour

Have the audacity to love them still,

Finding myself, got lost in them, lost them

Strangely, it’s peaceful

All around the oblivion of the world out

I feel them in the deepest of voids,

The existence in nothingness. Guiding me through it.

With the hope of joining them one day

I’ll look for the moon now.
