In die stilte – Juni-Ann George

my hart skeur op maniere onbeskryflik deur woorde

en onvertroosbaar met trane

oorverdowende stilte jaag teen snelspoed

om te krap aan die wond wat versteek

aan die bodem van to-do lists en

nimmereindigende “draaitjies” lê

die pyn sny dieper die oomblik my voete

tot stilstand kom:

vermyding word oorlewing en besigbly my lewensboot

die eensaamheid vreet aan beloftes

gemaak onder die vars geure van lente

met swygende lippe wat die klank van

verdriet gevangenis hou om die gewig van

versteekte knope in my hart te kan verlig

koue, ’n welkomende gas, versmoor elke saadjie van hoop

sodat kanse van teleurstelling en oorheersende pyn

minder verwoesting agterlaat

in die stilte,

wanneer ons skadu’s teen die muur in verdwyn

en my woorde die hemelruim in vaar:

staan ek naak, alleen…

in die herinneringe van dit wat ons was
