Poème pour l’Île Maurice

Oh mon pays, je t’adore

En pensant à toi, je m’endore

À midi ou à minuit

Avec la musique pendant la nuit

De retour à la maison

Sans froid, sans glaçons

Dans un hiver lointain

Un été arrive enfin

Une île magique

Avec ses plages relaxantes

Ses montagnes grandissantes

Et ses forêts non terrifiantes

C’est l’Île Maurice

C’est l’Île Maurice

Ma lune rayonnante

Ma famille accueillante

Ma ville souriante

Ma vie jouissante

L’Île Maurice, c’est ma nourrice

Ses fruits dont tout le monde raffole

Ses bananiers délicieux

Ses cocotiers juteux

Qui nous rendent folles

Nos animaux s’emballent

Mais nous les aimons sans mal

Surtout à Casela

Avec maman et papa

Sous la musique on danse

Avec nos jupes qui s’élancent

Sous une nuit d’étoiles filantes

C’est avec tout le monde qu’on chante

Les gens parlent le créole

Avec tout le monde on rigole

Ce pays est ma joie de vivre

Sans elle, je ne peux pas survivre

Mais depuis le début de janvier

Une tempête s’acclamait

Un orage s’acharnait

Sur les villageois effrayés

Sous les rivages submergés

Les maisons sont écoulées

Le volcan s’est réveillé

Et tout le monde est terrifié

Sur le Morne je me tiens

Avec toi, main dans la main

De mes yeux coulent des larmes de joie

Ce poème, je te l’envoie

Je me réveillais

Sur la plage ensoleillée

Avec un livre à côté de moi

Ce pays, c’est mon roi

Dis-moi d’où tu viens

Ce pays m’appartient

Je suis là pour t’aider

Mais ne me trahit jamais

Ce pays est ma source d’inspiration

Parfois il me donne des frissons

Je ne t’oublierais jamais

Je suis là à tes côtés

Mon cher papa

Cette île est à toi

Ma chère maman

C’est un pays éblouissant

En bateau j’irais

Vers toi pour l’éternité

Si tu disparais devant moi

Je ne pourrai rien faire sans toi

Ma famille, mes amies

Je vous aime

Vous êtes là dans mes veines

Ainsi je vous dis bonne nuit

Je me réveille ainsi

Avec toi sur le lit

Ton sourire m’éblouit

C’est avec toi que je vie

Merci mon rêve, mon pays

Grâce à toi je souris

Dans ce pays où naquit Sabiha

Dans ce poème, ma création poétique tu verras.
