Ik nazm likhne baithe the tere khyaal tab aayaa tha,

berang si thi duniya meri, tune gulaal lagaya tha,

sukhi se guldaste mein gulaab bann tu aaya tha,

mujhe pehli baar tumne jab seene se lagaya tha,

Thi saansein phir thamm gyi,

thi dhadhkanein bhi badh gyi,

sasson ko jaise meri tu khushboo ki tarhan bhaya tha!
