If Scripture Could Speak

By Emily D'Addieco

Follow me and you will have no fear

I will teach you why you’re here

It will all become so clear

No more will you wallow in purposelessness

powerlessness be not, when you acknowledge the word

the one which has been

Pre-made and pre-thought

But not to question what man has done?

Has faith won?

The pen is surely mightier than the sword

God is good but man is horror

interpretation and resignation

All leave the holiness of me to chance

Who is to say this is actually what he said?

Is this the word of god?

Or is this the scathe of man taking personal liberties

Stuff up the divine truth with political sod.
