If Only You Knew

If only you knew,
How hard was I trying,
To get myself noticed.
If only you knew,
About all the parties,
I got myself invited to,
Only to give you company.
If only you knew,
How many stars I had counted,
Thinking about you.
If only you knew,
How many miles I had travelled,
Only to be together with you,
Immersing myself in a world,
Which was going to be just ‘ours’.
If only you knew,
How many days had passed,
By staring at you,
Thinking about our future.
If only you knew,
About,
The words that were never said,
The letters that were never given,
The roses that had dried but never died.
If only you knew,
How hard I had fallen,
For your unknown existence,
From being totally anonymous to mine.
If only you knew,
How thankful I was,
For a shoulder you never knew you gave,
For a diary I embraced myself in,
Only wishing it were you.
If only you knew,
How courageous had I become,
Hiding from your world,
To showing up to a date,
A day which is never going to fade,
A colour which is never going to die,
Not even when dyed with others,
Only reddens but never vanishes,
Notes which were never going to be forgotten,
Sticking with my soul,
Like their name suggests.
