I Wish We Were Brave
By Aidén Düffeild
In a quiet classroom, just them two,
Doing homework together, feeling blue.
Side by side, they sat without any fears,
As they turned the pages, their fingers brushed so near;
but both withdrew, drowning in the sea of fear.
Thinking, "what if someone saw? What's about classmate's jeers?"
In her mind she softly said, "I wish we were brave;
To hold hands and walk under sun's gentle wave."
In their hearts, a hope that glowed bright,
To hold hands freely, in broad daylight.
One day, they'll be brave to hold hands tight;
Facing the world together, in a lovely delight.
