"I Need Time"

I need time

I need time to breathe

To watch a drop split in a concave

To hold my air in

To soak in the laundry from last night

To cover up my stumbles

To chase my silent thoughts

To cross off the joys I know I have felt,

To understand the pain I breed within

I need time to breathe.

To let the orchestra play for once

To figure out if any part is ahead or behind of its timeline.

To enjoy it as a music lover.

To analyse the hidden notes I'm taking in without approval and

To not feel like I'm overthinking it.

I need time to breathe in

hammering of construction happening

To lets its scratch hold me

To make it stop

To yell at its existence

To calm the noises to seemless silence.

Quite that does not come easy

Quite that takes time to breathe in.

I need time

I need time to finish my homework

left open on the floor.

I need time to close it shut

I need time to not feel like it's a chore when it should feel like a dream

I need time to fight with him, but

To not give up on him

To know he cares and loves me

To trust even after he left my broken pieces astray

To paint him white so black doesn't become my favourite colour

To not hold my breath thinking doom is lurking just for my tears

I need time

Time to breathe in and feel my sign.

As I let myself free.
