I Miss You

Updated: Jul 15

By Lavina Dsouza

I miss the girl naïve & plain

Who once read Nancy Drew & Mark Twain

I miss the girl in her floral lacey dresses

Who once had long brown tresses

I miss the girl who dreaded math

But braved every hurdle in her path

I miss the girl who raced with trains

And drenched herself in the drizzling rains

I miss the girl who skipped & played hopscotch

Who relished ice-creams barring butterscotch

I miss the girl who laughed & giggled often

Who savoured chocolates, not one two but a dozen

I look for her every which way

Hoping to meet her some day

If I find her, the girl I knew

I would tell her “How dearly I miss you"
