I'm Tired, Exhausted, I Just Want to Sleep
I'm tired exhausted I just want to sleep
To sink below where shadows creep.
Where clocks don't tick,hearts don't race,
And I can vanish without a trace.
Each day a drag, with heavy hands,
A fogged out mind that barely stands.
I smile on cue, I play my role,
But there's nothing left ,that can make me whole.
They say "hold on",they say "be strong",
But strength ran dry- I've held too long.
My bones are cracking under the weight,
I can't be helped,it is too late.
I'm tired, exhausted, i just want to sleep,
To drown in silence cold and deep.
No lullabies,no gentle grace-
Just darkness around with its frightening face.
I walk through crowds like a fading ghost,
Not quiet dead, but far from most.
They laugh, they talk, they live, they shine,
While I count my days, and say I'm fine.
My ceiling stares back every night,
There's not a sound, there's not a light.
Insomnia,a slow decay,
My skies are now forever gray.
I'm tired, exhausted, I just want to sleep,
Let me fall, somewhere steep.
A pit, a sea,a lightless void,
Where dreams and noise are both destroyed.
Don't call my name, don't light my way,
Don't beg for me to try or stay .
This isn't the weakness, this is my truth,
Reminisce of my stolen youth.
I'm tired, exhausted,i just want to sleep,
To close my eyes and finally weep.
Not tears of pain, just calm release,
A whispered end, a moment's peace.
So if I fade and disappear,
Don't search for me, I am not here.
I've gone to where the silence keeps,
I'm tired, exhausted,I just want to sleep.
