I'm Tired... Did I Tell You This?

Every memory feels like a thorn in my heart

Some feel like poison while the others feel like regret

Some memories make me feel things I can't even identify

I can't quite explain how I feel in words

But they consume me whole, they try to eat me alive

The ghost in my childhood bedroom now lives in my head

Prepared to unarm me on my darkest of days

I fall to the ground, and sit in the little corner of my room

Hands tightening around me, tears falling down involuntarily

No one can ever see me like this, i tell myself

One memory after another keeps flooding in

Just when I think it would stop

Another memory kicks me in the gut

How many mistakes have I made? I cannot count

How many mistakes have they made? I keep count

How ironic!

They have made me a villain in my mind as well as their own

If their goal was to break me... Here's my standing ovation!
