I'm Just Like That

I like to laugh out loud,

Whisper to myself

I make decisions,

Reliving from dusty old shelves.

I keep my distance from people,

Never by choice,

I feel desolate,

Keeping shut my inner voice.

I learnt it the hard way,

Enjoyed my freedom,

I prioritize the now,

Brushing away from wisdom.

I know I'm not perfect,

Rejection like a piece of me,

I saw the demon inside,

Yet standing here naked and free.

I let myself believe,

The world is a happy place,

I can't take another blow,

Please, it's ruining my pretty face.

I take a vow to keep sailing,

waves crashing harder,

I crawl to the shore,

Living as much because life's getting shorter.
