I KNOW, I HOPE

I know, I know.

I’m not that naïve, just smart enough -

To not poke it in its peak.

I hope, I hope - that I’m wrong,

That I’m too presumptuous, too much -

Of a narcissist, yet, just cowardly enough -

To not confront you as you seek.

Because as I hope, I love you so, just -

Not in the way you want me to.

Because no matter how much I hope,

I’m wrong in what I see,

I’m not blind in knowing -

You like me.
