I Felt Like Tonight, I Wanted To Write

I felt like tonight, I wanted to write,

I wanted to write until I felt satisfied,

Hours were spent writing and writing,

Seconds were spent each piece discarding.

I felt like tonight, I wanted to write,

Not now, I cannot put it aside.

If I stop here, if I don’t fight,

It might not hurt me but it might hurt my pride.

I felt like tonight, I wanted to write,

I want to enjoy, a perfect poetry sight.

I feel stupid, oh my imprudent mind,

I can’t put these words in a perfect rhyme.

I felt like tonight, I wanted to write,

But I disgraced my ability despite.

I might not be skilled, not to my surprise,

In the end I couldn’t suffice, my will to write something nice tonight.
