I'd Still Choose You

By Tanvi Sherikar

I’d choose my mom in every life Not just for love, not just by right.

It’s more than blood, more than a name,

It’s fate that bound us, not just claim

You see the parts I try to hide,

You feel my storms before the tide.

You shield me when I fall apart,

You hold my fears inside your heart

And every time I think of you,

The tears just fall, they always do.

Cause when the world turned cold and gray,

You were the sun that lit my way

You played both roles, strong and wise,

Faced the storms with fire in your eyes.

No cape, no crown, no grand applause,

Just silent strength and a heart that draws.

They say, “some things are meant to be,”

And I believe that you and me,

Were tied by more than time or chance,

By grace, by pain, by circumstance.

Now you’re not just mom, you’re friend, you’re guide,

The calm that holds me when I hide.

My safe place when the night feels long,

My steady truth, my lifelong song.

So if I’m born a thousand times through,

I’d still come home, and I’d still choose you.
