I call for Narayan

I call for NARAYAN

Another week has passed by,

Another year is to end.

There is a lot I am thankful for,

A lot that I still resent.

Maybe what I need, desperately today,

Is a fresh new perspective on the world and its disarray.

Unexpected and sudden, life goes on.

For some it stops and shivers on a rainy day,

For some it moves like a falling star, without a break in its way.

People lose people, they care about deeply,

The past haunts them, and the future looks at them bleakly.

And yet, without reason, with nothing to hold on,

Time passes by, cementing the loss that's gone.

Faith, they say, is what you should always hold,

Close within your heart, like a shimmer that is strong and bold.

For that and nothing else, will help me restart,

The shattered, broken, paralyzed and immobilized heart.

“I surrender, I surrender”, I chant your name countless times.

I feel you next to me, as I sing the half-forgotten hymns.

I offer orisons, prayers soundlessly,

With tears in my eyes, and throat constricted helplessly.

Surrendering all that I am to you KRISHNA,

Needing you by my side.

Believing that you will hold me and my heart,

Tried after all its cries.

I pray for strength to hold this world in my heart,

For my tears to run deep with others pain,

For you to help me help those,

Who need me in the life again.

May my life be a vessel for your love,

To be shared with others, everyone you wish to serve.

May my heart be strong to live through the struggles,

May you always hold my hand, through all the troubles.

May the lives around my sparkle and shine,

May I contribute to the happiness of those you wrote as mine.

May you guide me like Arjun,

Through this battleground of life,

May you be the charioteer of my fate,

Leading to the path where I thrive.

I ask for NARAYANA, for you who know all,

To hold my hand tight, through the victories and the falls.

For I yearn to surrender all of me to you ,

You believe in me and I believe in you.
