I Am Ready Again Today

White coat, stethoscope,

I am ready again today.

Faces hid, but pain no more,

Let’s drive the storm away.

The longest queues,

The saddest smiles,

I see them every day.

Inconsolable cries,

When loved one dies,

I live them every day.

I am ready again today.

Helpless screams,

Terrifying dreams,

Now a normal, so to say.

It’s when the fears come to play,

That I too bow to pray.

With hope and with faith,

I am ready again today.

I chance a look at the crowded room

Waiting, worrying.

No one takes a seat.

That night,

I tear up again at the Sight of defeat.

Sometimes hopeless,

Sometimes buoyant.

Sometimes life’s the hunter,

And we’re the prey.

But hey!

I am ready again today.

Someday, I’ll sit by the beach,

Basking in the sun,

some truths I will seek.

Do you think am no mortal?

That my emotions are far from reach?

Do you think when I say goodbye,

I don’t feel what you feel?

I have a family at home,

And some I lose every day,

Trust me,

I am ready again today.

One more day and one more,

Even when am weary and sore.

I’ll fight till the end of time,

I’ll survive for yours and mine.

I’ll wait for the night to pass

I’ll wait for the sun to shine,

I’ll wait for the break of day,

And smile for once,

Just to say,

I am ready again today.
