I Am India

By Napuleon Sonowal

I am India — a nation of pride,

also called Bharat, with history wide.

Where leaders were born, bold and wise,

who rose with fire in their sacrifice.

My strength lies in diversity,

different cultures, one identity.

Hindus, Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, and more,

together we stand, rich at the core.

Great leaders rose to lead the fight,

they gave their all to bring me light.

With courage strong, they broke each chain,

and built a future from their pain.

They call me Bharat Mata —

and soldiers give their lives for me and you.

They guard the borders, day and night,

with heart so brave, and spirits bright.

Their final breath, a quiet plea:

“Keep India safe, keep India free!”

My flag flies with colors three,

each shade a part of what makes me, me!

Saffron for courage and sacrifice made,

white for peace that must never fade.

Green for growth and nature’s grace —

a hopeful path for every place.

I carry the past, I walk toward the new,

with every citizen— like you.

I am India — your voice, your land,

forever proud, forever I stand.
