I am a survivor

I am a survivor,

And proud to say it, too.

I won’t let what you did to me

Leave me bitter and blue.

I am a survivor,

You cannot keep me down for long.

I will rise again, for sure,

Because I am still strong.

I am a survivor,

Though you left me in others’ care.

And, somehow, I was never angry,

Though what you did wasn’t fair.

I am a survivor,

And will never be anything less.

I won’t let you drown me

In sorrow and sadness.

I am a survivor,

Not a victim, of your crime.

Watch me as you leave me behind,

A survivor this time!
